As we age we are not able to create as much hyaluronic acid or collagen as our body needs. The gradual reduction in both as well as changes in fat and bone within the complex structure of our faces in changes to facial volume, decreases in hydration and elasticity as well as an increase in skin laxity. Additional treatments to tighten skin, rehydrate and improve skin laxity are for some patients.
Hyaluronic Acid and collagen stimulating with dermal filler is suitable for most people. We discuss your medical history at your new patient consultation and would ask you to postpone if you were pregnant or breastfeeding. Treatment may not suitable if you are having immune therapy or undergoing cancer treatment.
All our dermal fillers are performed by Dr Hemming who is extremely experienced in aesthetic injectable techniques.
You should expect some minor discomfort or tenderness initially, this settles very quickly. We use local anaesthetic injections to help numb some treatment areas and cool compress to calm any potential swelling.
Side effects are minimal if any. Injection site and mild bruising as well as redness, dry skin and itching to the treatment area may occur. If your and Lips are treated this area can swell a little more after treatment and will settle within 7-14 days. Dermal fillers should not be used if pregnant or breast feeding as we have no research to prove it is safe for your foetus or child. More serious complications can occur which is why all of our dermal filler treatments are performed by a medically qualified practitioner who is trained in management.

Effects of dermal filler can be seen and the complete effect of both filler and botox in 2 weeks.
